Camp Staff
The Patriot Soccer Camp has a highly qualified and talented staff. Our coaches are all presently working with teams at the professional, college, and high school levels. They have many years of experience coaching in Maryland, the United States, England, and in other countries throughout the world. In addition, we have counselors who work with the campers. These counselors are current or former varsity players at Northern High School, as well as other high schools in the area. Many of these counselors are currently playing soccer at the college level.

Former Varsity Boys Head Coach, Northern High School
Coach Webster has been involved with youth soccer in Calvert County and the state of Maryland for several years. Currently, Coach Webster works with the Men's Soccer program at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Previously, he held the position of Varsity Boys Head Coach at Northern High School. Coach Webster has also been involved in club soccer in Calvert County. One of the original founders of the Northern Calvert Patriots SC, he has coached several age group teams in the most competitive leagues and competitions in the area. He has also worked as an evaluator for the Maryland State Olympic Development Program (ODP) and as a staff coach with the Maryland State District Development Program. Coach Webster holds a National Coaching License from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
Staff Coaches
Jack Edwards
Senior Scout and youth soccer coach with Oldham Athletic of the English Second Division. His current role with the club has placed him in control of the development program for the youth academy training players to be future professionals. Edwards has coached for 30 years in and around Manchester, with both amateur and professional players, primarily focusing on youth development programs. His professional career has taken him from the local amateur ranks to the top professionals, from the English 3rd Division to Manchester City F.C., who were recently promoted back to the Premiership at the top level of English soccer.
Lee Duxbury
Duxbury currently plays professionally in England with Oldham Athletic in the English Second Division. He has been selected to serve as captain of the squad. Duxbury has played more than 500 matches in the professional ranks in England. In addition to Oldham, he has played with Bradford City, Rochdale, and Huddersfield. Duxbury has competed in more than 30 FA Cup matches. He has scored more than 70 professional goals.
Herb Gainey
Head Coach of the Men's Soccer program at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Coach Gainey took over as the head coach for the men's soccer program at St. Mary's in the fall of 2002, after serving four years as the top assistant. In his first year, the Seahawks established a new team record for wins in a season by finishing 15-5 overall. For his efforts, Coach Gainey was selected by his peers as the 2002 CAC Coach-of-the-Year, marking the first time ever that a men's soccer coach from SMCM has won the award. Gainey currently holds USSF, and NSCAA Advanced National soccer diplomas and currently serves as the Head Girls ODP Coach for Maryland.
John Carberry
Coach and Manager of the Senior Reserve Team for Burscough F.C. in the English Unibond League. Carberry has been a professional coach for several ears in England. Prior to coaching, his playing career took him to several English professional clubs.
Eric Wagner
Head Coach of the Men's Soccer progam at Swarthmore College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Previously held position as Head Coach of the Men's program at St. Mary's College of Maryland. Wagner has held coaching positions at Duke University, the University of Notre Dame, Southwestern University, and Connecticut College. Wagner holds an Advanced National Coaching License from the National Soccer Coaches of America Association (NSCAA).
Colin Grimsey
Founder of Calvert County Soccer Camps and former Boys Varsity Head Coach at Northern High School and Calvert High School. Grimsey began Calvert County Soccer Camps in 1996 at Calvert High School. Since that time, it has grown each year. His time as coach at Northern and Calvert were highly successful. He was involved with youth soccer clubs around in the county and with the Maryland District Development program. Grimsey holds National Coaching Licenses from USSF and NSCAA. He currently resides and coaches in New Hampshire.
Howie McGowan
Junior Varisty Coach, Northern High Boys Soccer. Coach McGowan has been involved with coaching youth soccer in the area for many years. Since joining the staff at Northern in 1998, he has fielded competitive Junior Varsity squads. His teams consistently perform well on the field. More importantly, Coach McGowan prepares his players to be competitive on the Varsity level. During his college years, he was an instrumental part of the Mens Soccer team at West Virginia Wesleyan.
Garrett Tucker
Coach Tucker is the goalkeeping specialist for Patriot Soccer Camp. He played collegiate soccer at Salisbury State University. After his playing career, Tucker coached at Anne Arundel Community College. He has been giving clinics to youth players throughout the state of Maryland for several years. Tucker is also a highly-rated referee who has worked games at the youth, high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
Robert Gibb
Girls Varsity Head Coach at Montgomery Blair High School in Maryland. Gibb has been involved with youth and high school soccer in Maryland for several years. He played collegiate soccer at Connecticut College and currently plays for several highly competitive men's teams in the Washington, D.C. Area. Coach Gibb has been a favorite among the players at our camp.
Steve Shurman
Boys Varsity Head Coach at Pallotti High School in Maryland. Shurman has coached Palotti for several years in one of the most competitive high school conferences in the area. He played collegiate soccer at Salisbury State University. Shurman holds an Advanced National Coaching License from NSCAA.
